New bike day! Zach building up his new Santa Cruz Hightower 29.
After a few rides on this thing I can tell that the Hightower is the best bike I have owned. I cant wait for the upcoming race season now! Keep and eye out for the next videos and a more detailed bike check.
So I am switching to 29 inch wheels as they make a lot of sense for my riding style and racing. 29ers offer so much stability and speed over chunder and in straight aways. Furthermore, with all the geometry improvements and fork offset options, 29ers handle incredibly well.
I plan on upgrading to a Fox 36, building up some different wheels, and of course putting some WTB tires on it soon. I am 5’8″ and have the medium frame. Some people my height might ride a large but I felt with a bigger bike I would lose some maneuverability.
So far this bike has blown me away. I cant wait to get out and do some races on it!
